Public Hearings are held to identify and address concerns relating to a proposed amendment to the Land Use Bylaw and/or a proposed development. These meetings are open to the general public and are typically held in the Council Chambers at the Municipal District's administration office during regular Council or Municipal Planning Commission meetings, unless otherwise advertised.

Bylaw 1576 Proposes to amend bylaw 1250, being the Land Use Bylaw, by creating ‘Vacant Country Residential – VCR’ land use district within the municipality.

Development
Application 144 -08
Submitted by TransAlta Wind, a division of TransAlta Corporation, proposes to construct and operate a 69 MW wind farm consisting of a maximum of twenty-three (23) 3 MW turbines (approximate total height of 125m i.e from ground to tip of blade), two permanent meteorological towers (each approximately 80m in height) and a substation. Construction is scheduled to commence in the fall of 2009 with the commissioning of the turbines in the summer of 2010.
