Draft Land Use Bylaw

The Land Use Bylaw divides the municipality in land use districts and establishes regulations and standards governing land use and development in each district. The Bylaw contains details on how to make applications for development permits; how and by whom decisions on applications are made; notification procedures for applications; validity of a permit; and conditions that may be attached. Amound other things the LUB also contains regulations regarding use, setbacks and parcel sizes.

On September 22, 2010 the municipal council gave first reading to Bylaw 1616 being the new land use bylaw. A Public Hearing is being called to allow for further public imput prior to the new land use bylaw coming into effect. The Public hearing will be in held in the Municipal District of Willow Creek No.26 Council Chambers at 10:00 am., on the 13th Day of October, 2010.

A draft of the proposed new land use bylaw is now available for review by the public(see links below). Public Input is important!
The PURPOSE of the new land use bylaw is:
  • to incorporate the mandatory changes required for land use bylaws prescribed in the Municipal Government Act,

  • to incorporate minor revisions and previous amendments to the present bylaw,

  • to amend the existing Land Use District Maps to reflect several land use redeisnations which have or will be made,

  • to incorporate an expanded number of definitions, schedules and appendices,

  • to establish two new land use districts,
