Equipment Rental

The following equipment is available for use by farmers and ranchers in The Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26. This service is only available to the ratepayers of The Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26. Ratepayers from another district can rent our equipment through their ASB Department.

A deposit is required when any equipment is borrowed. It is $50.00 except where otherwise noted for some of the soil conservation equipment, and various traps. To book these items, call the Agricultural Service Board at 625-3351.

SPRAYERS

(a) Weed Sprayer (Unit 293)

• 100 gallon slip tank with spray unit that slides into the back of a ½ ton
• $15.00 per day of use; minimum charge of $15.00
• (for use on fencelines, slough areas, thistle patches, burdock, etc.)

(b) High Pressure Sprayer (Unit 296)

• 100 gallon slip tank with spray unit for livestock, shelterbelts, trees, etc.
• $5.00 per hour of use; minimum charge of $15.00
• Slides into the back of a ½ ton

(c) Back-Pack Sprayers

• no charge (7 Sprayers) 2 weeks maximum, $100.00 deposit is required.

RESTRICTED AND NOXIOUS WEED SPRAYING

100% of chemical costs and 100% of labour and equipment for the first hour and 50% for each additional hour will be charged to the property owner for the spraying of restricted and noxious weeds on private lands. 1 hour minimum labour and ½ litre of each chemical used minimum.

TREE PLANTERS (pin hitch, 2 planters)

• $25.00 per day or $12.50 per half day (no manpower provided)
• can also be used for potatoes, strawberries, etc.

PORTABLE LIVESTOCK SCALES

(a) Scale only #297; Ball Hitch

• $20.00 per day

(b) #214 Ball Hitch (Digital Head)

• $30.00 per day

(c) Scale plus weighman

• additional charge of $20.00 per hour for operator, mileage and washing unit

NOTE: $15.00 penalty for scale returned that is not thoroughly washed.

             $200.00 damage deposit required 

PORTABLE HOOF-TRIMMING TABLE

• $10.00 per day of use plus $1.00 per head

NOTE: $15.00 penalty if returned without being thoroughly washed.

BURROW BUILDER

• for pocket gopher control
• $5.00 per day of use

WATER TANKS

• Livestock Watering

• $2.00 per day after 20 days

• Water Hauling

• 1000 gallon tank $10.00 per day
• 500 gallon tank $5.00 per day

SOIL CONSERVATION EQUIPMENT

(a) Haybuster Bale Shredder – for spreading straw on areas susceptible to wind erosion

• $20.00 per day; minimum charge of $20.00
• $200 damage deposit required

(b) Straw Incorporator – a 14 foot drum with narrow cleats which presses the straw into the soil without breaking down soil clods

• $1.00 per acre; $20.00 minimum

(c) Manure Spreader – for use where manure is to be applied to build organic matter or prevent erosion

• $150.00 per day; minimum charge of $100.00; $200.00 damage deposit

NOTE: $50.00 penalty for not washing prior to return

(d) Brown Soil Moisture Probes

• $15.00 each SALE ONLY

(e) Dugout Liming Equipment – For Dugouts

• $25.00 per dugout
• includes water test conducted by ASB Staff

NOTE: $15.00 penalty if returned without being thoroughly washed

MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT

(a) Raccoon Traps (Cage)

• raccoon traps will be loaned out free of charge once a $70.00 deposit has been paid to The Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26.
• the deposit will be refunded if the trap is returned in good condition within 30 days.
• if a trap is not returned within 30 days the deposit will be used as payment in full for the purchase of the trap.

(b) Raccoon Traps (Egg)

• policy as above, deposit and purchase price is $20.00.

(c) Skunk Traps

• policy as above, deposit and purchase price is $70.00.

(d) Magpie Trap

• policy as above, but there is no option to purchase and trap must be returned within 30 days.
• construction plans are available on request

(e) Pocket Gopher Traps

• No Charge; $10.00 deposit for each trap
• Also For Sale - $9.00 each

(f) Broadcast Seeders (1 Seeder, hand held)

• no charge

(g) Ultrasonic Pregnancy Tester (Hogs, Cows and Horses)

• $20.00 for ½ day or $35 .00 for a full day
• required $100.00 damage deposit
