2013 was the final year landowners could receive trees from the PFRA Shelterbelt Program. The cancellation of this program ended over 100 years of providing free trees to farmers and other landowners. The program was originally started to establish shelterbelts across the prairies in an effort to prevent soil erosion.
Alberta has many tree nurseries that provide suitable tree species for the local area.
An example order form is provided for landowners; however, the ASB has no affiliation with any tree nursery and is not liable for any service provided.
