Bridges in the Municipal District of Willow Creek are classified as any pre-cast or treated timber structure as well as any culvert greater than or equal to 1500mm in diameter. Most bridges which exist on a Municipal road allowance are owned by Alberta Transportation, however the Municipality is responsible for the maintenance and replacement of these 143 structures.
In 2016 the Government of Alberta release new funding under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP) to help municipalities with costs associated with bridge replacements. The Municipal District of Willow Creek submits numerous applications annually.
